IBGE installs new DPE and DGC directors

The new directors of the Directorate of Surveys (DPE), Elizabeth Belo Hypolito, and of the Directorate of Geosciences (DGC), Ivone Lopes Batista, take office next March 11 at 10 AM in a ceremony at the Teixeira de Freitas Auditorium, located at General Canabarro Street, Maracanã, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The event will be on-site, though it will be broadcast through the IBGE portal (www.ibge.gov.br).

Elizabeth Belo Hypolito, Director of Surveys, is PhD in Population, Territory and Public Statistics from the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE), Master in Statistics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and graduated in Actuarial Sciences also from the UFRJ. The Director of Surveys teaches in ENCE´s undergraduate program as well. She has experience in planning, production, design and analysis of household surveys, as well as in data quality under the perspective of the total error of the survey.

Director of Geosciences, Ivone Lopes Batista is Geographer, Master and PhD in Economic Geography, with emphasis on Territory Management (UFRJ). She is Assistant Professor in ENCE´s Specialization in Environmental Analysis and Territory Management. In terms of professional performance, she works in environmental studies, statistics, indicators and environmental-economic accounts of ecosystems.
