This Friday (02), at 10 am, the IBGE broadcasts the event “2022 Census: Geographic Coordinates of Addresses”, held in the municipality of Ponte Alta do Tocantins, the entrance gate for the Jalapão Park. The ceremony will be attended by Marcio Pochmann, president of the IBGE, Wanderlei Barbosa, governor of the state, local authorities, besides directors and technicians from the Institute and representatives of the federal, state and municipal spheres of government.
With this release, the IBGE makes available the coordinate of addresses registered throughout the 2022 Census data collection. This collection of geographic data will be available for free download at the IBGE website as a tool that can help in academic research, business strategies and different steps of planning at three spheres of government. The geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) of the housing units visited by the enumerators will be identified, and also the type of building (household, commercial establishment, agricultural establishment, etc.).
The data of geographic location of the addresses show the territorial coverage of the Census data collection and an overview of the population distribution over the national territory, including intra-municipal divisions. The data will be made available in a disaggregated way and can be visualized by means of maps on the Interactive Geographic Platform and on the Overview.
The event is part of the "IBGE Jalapão Expedition in Tocantins", a caravan organized by the Institute with the support from the state of Tocantins and other partners in the production of indicators and statistics. The expedition started on Thursday (01), at Girassóis Square, in Palmas, passed through Santa Tereza do Tocantins and reached Ponte Alta, and will get back to the capital on Saturday (03).
