The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release on Friday, 12, in an online event at 11 am, a new section of SINGED Lab, with useful information about the municipalities affected by floods in Rio Grande do Sul, such as total population figures, housing units and establishments in flooded areas delimited by municipal administration, state agencies or the federal government.
Users will also have the opportunity to see a list of addresses and geographic coordinates within a polygon of affected areas. The launch will be streamed online on IBGE Digital.
The event will be hosted by the president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, the director of Geosciences, Ivone Lopes Batista, the director of Surveys, Elizabeth Belo Hypolito, and the integration manager for the IBGEs Geoinformation Production, Aline Lopes.
The data in this new SINGED Lab section will be part of a platform developed by the IBGE’s Directorate of Geosciences (DGC) in partnership with other departments of the Institute, with information integrated by means of IBGE'S SINGED Lab , which is the IBGE laboratory for innovation.
