The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release this Friday on the 6th of September, at 10 am, the results of the “2022 Population Census: Types of collective, improvised and non-occupied housing units: Population results ”, at Casa Brasil IBGE, at Palácio da Fazenda, located at Avenida Presidente Antônio Carlos, 375, térreo - Centro, Rio de Janeiro. The event will be streamed on Digital IBGE on the IBGE website and on the Institute’s social media channels. The results will also be available at 10 am on the IBGE website and on platforms such as Sidra, a Interactive Geographic Platform (PGI) the Census Overview.
The release brings information about the population living in improvised and collective housing units. Data will be disaggregated by type of housing unit, sex and age. Other relevant results are the illiteracy rate of the resident population by type of housing unit and type of non-occupied housing unit (ocasional and vacant). will also be informed. Data will cover the levels of Brazil, Major Regions, Federation Units and, in some of the tables, Municipalities, as well.
This will be the 14th national release of the 2022 Census and the data will be presented by Bruno Mandelli Perez, a technician from the IBGE Social Indicators Department. The event will also be attended by Elizabeth Hypólito, Director of Surveys, and Gustavo Junger, Census Coordinator.
In addition to the release, the event will feature a free workshop entitled “A Territory of Information: Potentialities of 2022 Census Data”, on the technical and operational aspects of the survey and its potential for decision-making by local managers. The target audience for the course is public managers, educators and students. In addition to Bruno Perez and Gustavo Junger, Census Planning Manager Giulia Scappini, Geoinformation Production Integration Manager Aline Coelho and Environment Coordinator Therence Sarti will participate in the workshop.
