The IBGE will release on May 9 at 9am the "First results of the Quarterly Surveys of Animal Slaughter, Milk, Leather and Production of Hen Eggs", related to the January-March 2018 period. In order to meet the requests of users to access the short-term information on Livestock right in the end of the reference quarter, the first results will be available about one month before the general release of the data in the IBGE Indicators: Statistics of livestock production periodic.

A joint analysis by the Department of Livestock, Coordination of Agriculture and Directorate of Surveys assessed that the national data haven´t any major change between the end of the data collection and the release, allowing an early release at Brazil level. As a result, the first results of January-March 2018 will be released just nine days after the end of the data collection, subject to changes until the traditional release on June 14, which will include the Federation Units.

The data will be available on the IBGE portal, both in the survey pages and in the IBGE System of Automatic Recovery - SIDRA.

To correctly interpret the data, the following observations should be noticed: 
1.The First Results of the Quarterly Surveys of Livestock show information only at Brazil level. 
2.They are early data and can be changed until the release of the results of the reference quarter. 
3.The data related to the reference quarter/year can be changed until the release of the data of the first quarter next year. In other words, the 2018 data will be definitive only in June 2019.
