IBGE will release, on October 15, Emergency dimensioning of the resident population in indigenous and quilombola areas aiming at fighting the coronavirus pandemic

IBGE will release, at 10 am on October 15, Emergency dimensioning of the resident population in indigenous and quilombola areas aiming at fighting the coronavirus pandemic, which is part of the “Experimental Surveys”.

The technical report will present methodological procedures and results of emergency dimensioning of resident populations in indigenous and quilombola areas in 2020 for all the municipalities and Federation Units and the Federal District, in compliance with demands from the Ministry of Health relative to the National Plan for COVID-19 Vaccination.

The statistics that to be published in the report were intended to find solutions to an emergency in public health, thus providing estimates about specific populations, whose data availability is limited. They are, therefore, classified as experimental and must be used with care, since they are still in the testing phase and under evaluation. By releasing them, the IBGE intends to engage users and interested parties in the evaluation of the study relevance and quality, considering the purposes it has been created to fulfill.
