On December 20, IBGE will release the Continuous National Household Sample Survey: Labor of Children and Teenagers aged between 5 and 17 2022 - Experimental Statistics

On December 20 at 10 AM, the IBGE will release the Continuous National Household Sample Survey: Labor of Children and Teenagers aged between 5 and 17 years - 2022 - Experimental Statistics. Information about economic and production activities for own consumption, school and domestic activities carried out by children and teenagers aged between 5 and 17 years. Still in an experimental character, this release is mainly focused on the adoption of Resolution IV of the 20th International Conference of Labor Statisticians (ICLS), held in 2018, on statistics of child labor, organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO).

The contingent in situation of child labor was measured for that population, as well as its characteristics like sex, age, color or race, student condition, worked hours and type of activity carried out. In addition to those indicators, the study shows the results of the work coordinated by the IBGE, which used the Continuous PNAD to classify children and teenagers aged between 5 and 17 years who carried out activities from the List of Worst Forms of Labor (TIP List). Besides measuring the population in situation of child labor, it was possible to pinpoint whether their jobs are included in the List of Worst Forms of Child Labor.

These statistics are classified as experimental and should be used with caution, as they are new statistics still in the test phase and under assessment.
