On March 21, IBGE will release Preliminary Aggregates by Enumeration Area and Mesh of Preliminary Enumeration Areas


On March 21 at 10 AM, the IBGE will release “2022 Population Census: Preliminary Aggregates by Enumeration Area: Population and households,” showing the total number of the resident population and households in Brazil, aggregated by the division of preliminary enumeration areas. On the same date, “2022 Population Census: Mesh of Preliminary Enumeration Areas” will be released, containing the digital files of the enumeration areas that represent the Brazilian territory for IBGE censuses and surveys.

The enumeration areas are the territorial units of data collection of the Population Census. With the preliminary release, the results will be available for the political-administrative divisions of Districts and Sub-Districts, besides allowing to explore more spatial details.

In the coming months, the IBGE will continue to compile the results and improve the mesh of enumeration areas, in order to release the definitive aggregates by enumeration area.
